Sweet Treats to Celebrate Harry Potter Book Night

Tonight, Bloomsbury UK is hosting its second Harry Potter Book Night. Last year, over 10,000 celebrations were held around the world! Whether you’re attending a local event or hosting your own, these tasty recipes will help you set the perfect mood.

Let’s start simple.

These peanut butter cup broomsticks are simple enough for kids to join in on the fun! Or, if you’re looking for a more savory variation, try this yummy version made with frayed string cheese.

Broomstick Treats
“Even Harry, who knew nothing about the different brooms, thought it looked wonderful.”

For some classic treats, like those first encountered by Harry on the Hogwarts Express, try these incredible recipes for Cauldron Cakes, Pumpkin Pasties, and Licorice Wands.

Trolley Treats
“What she did have were Berttie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum, Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands, and a number of other strange things Harry had never seen in his life.”

And if you thought Chocolate Frogs or Berttie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans are too magical to be replicated, these recipes might just change your mind.

Chocolate Frogs
“‘What are these?’ Harry asked Ron, holding up a pack of Chocolate Frogs. ‘They’re not really frogs, are they?'”

These cake pops will delight any Quidditch fan.

Golden Snitch Cake Pops
“‘This,’ said Wood, ‘is the Golden Snitch, and it’s the most important ball of the lot.'”

For more challenging recipes, try your hand at some of Mrs. Weasley’s famous fudge, or surprise your guests with these clever Sorting Hat Cupcakes.

“Fred gave me [an acid pop] when I was seven, it burnt a hole right through my tongue.”

These treats will no doubt leave your guests thirsting for a drink. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with some Polyjuice Potion Punch.
